By now, you might have heard about the NTF hype. Maybe you are even thinking about making NFT minting into a business. If this is the case then it's time to learn more about the Polygon platform. Polygon is the first NFT marketplace to support the minting of NFTs by anyone and this makes it an ideal platform to start the creation of your own unique assets. The process of minting an NFT on Polygon is completely free and can be done in just a few minutes without any fees or gas fees like in Ethereum.

No Gas Fees

Ethereum has become clogged with slow transactions and high gas fees, but Polygon’s protocol is a Layer 2 scaling solution that avoids network congestion. When it comes to minting NFTs, Polygon allows creators to take the process out of Ethereum’s busy network, but keep the benefit of launching the finished assets into Ethereum at a fantastic speed. All of this with the added perk of the cheap transaction fees. The standard fee per transaction on the Polygon network is US$0.01 This means that in fact, you can trade entire real estate portfolios for a fraction of a penny.

Polygon's NFTs Integrated to Instagram

This past May 9th, Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri announced on Twitter that IG will start testing the integration of digital collectibles from Ethereum and Polygon. Soon Flow and Solana will follow. During the first stage of testing, only a selection of US creators will be able to display their NFTs in their profiles. When all blockchains are integrated, users will have complete control over their assets no matter where they're posted and they also will be able to see the NFTs owned by their favorite influencers and stars. When the full integration is finalized, NFT users will be able to prove ownership of their assets, show them on their profiles and tag the artists or creators that made their NFTs. Mosseri also assured the public that there would be no fees associated with posting or sharing digital collectives on Instagram.

How to Mint an NFT on Polygon

The process of minting an NFT on Polygon’s network is quite simple. The only thing you need to do before starting is download and install Metamask. After that, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Polygon NFT Minter and connect to your wallet
  2. Upload the file you want to mint into an NFT and select Polygon.
  3. Fill in the title and other info.
  4. Click on “Approve”.

It's that easy. Starting a journey as an NFT creator has no tricks and once your art is on the network, you can sell and trade, earning some crypto on the way.
